Frequently Asked Questions
Am I good candidate for LuvBrows Microblading ?
LuvBrows Microblading is our unique 'semi-permanent makeup' technique. It is a great option for those who have eyebrows that have thinned with age, are over-plucked, suffer from hair loss, or you simply want to improve the shape and look. Creating fine strokes like fake hair, we are able to create THE MOST NATURAL eyebrow looking crafted only for you!
At Luciana's Makeup we don't believe in 'one size fits all', reason why we do not have a 'standard' format for every person. All of our treatments are customized only for you, to your own true and authentic beauty!
Luciana's Makeup is well known for creating THE MOST NATURAL and DELICATE HYPER REALISTIC brow look for all of our clients.
We believe that the most conservative we are in the creation of the strokes like hair, the more
your eyebrows results will be. The eyebrows are mapped, measured and penciled in before beginning. We will give you our recommendation, but you will have the final decision before we continue with the treatment.
How long does LuvBrows Microblading treatment take?
LuvBrows Microblading is a two step process, usually taking 4-6weeks between sessions. It is important to complete both the initial procedure and follow-up.
STEP 1: INITIAL TREATMENT
The INITIAL TREATMENT takes approximately 2:30 hours. During this time, a consultation is done where we discuss your desired brow look, choose a colour tone and draw the initial outline of the procedure area for your approval. Though our faces are NOT perfectly symmetrical (one side is usually flatter than the other), we do our very best to create as much symmetry as possible! As we like to say, BROWS ARE SISTERS, NOT TWINS.
Once you are satisfied with the basic shape and symmetry, the area is then traced over and semi-permanent pigment is applied with a disposable microblading hand tool. This procedure uses a manual hand tool and not a machine.
STEP 2: FOLLOW-UP
The second stage of the treatment is a FOLLOW-UP appointment. The Follow-up takes approximately 1hour and it is complimentary to your service. Follow-ups are done no earlier than 4 weeks of your initial procedure and no later than 6 weeks.
If you do not schedule your follow-up within 6 weeks, you will be required to pay a follow-up fee outlined in our follow-up schedule.
It is important that you complete the follow-up treatment. Without it the results may not be optimal.
Color will fade significantly within 4 weeks as the skin heals, peels and fades. The follow-up session corrects any irregularities in the microbladed hair strokes, cool or warmup tones and finishes the process.
*Occasionally a second follow-up (or 3rd session) - 4 weeks after follow-up - will be necessary for certain clients which the pigment does not take as well to the skin. In case this, the ADDITIONAL follow-up session will be CHARGED accordingly to our current rates for follow-ups.*
How long can I expect my treatment to last?
The pigment used for your LuvBrows Microblading is semi-permanent and can last between 6 months up to 1year depending on skin type, lifestyle and skin care routine. The pigment will begin to fade within 6 -10 months. In order to keep your brows looking fresh, additional sessions are recommended every 8-10 months up to 18months maximum. After 18months, full price for LuvBrows Microblading & LuvLips Luxe will be applied.
For clients that choose a softer look and lighter color shade initially or those who did not follow the after care instructions properly may require more frequent follow-ups. Some factors may cause your microbladed brows to fade faster, like:
weak immune systems;
exposure to salt water;
Do results vary?
Yes, results can vary from person to person. Color retention and overall results are different for each individual. Factors such as sun exposure, skin type, aftercare, lifestyle and skin tone determine how your brows heal.
OILY SKIN - tends to 'push out' the ink quicker, and may need more frequent touch ups and heal extra powdery.
DARKER SKIN - will have less contrast and may heal even more powdery or solid-looking than lighter tones. The darker the skin tone, the less detail you will see over time.
MATURE SKIN - is very fine, delicate and thin. It tends to heal more powdery and lines can heal on the thicker side. Results are very unpredictable.
The final results are not guaranteed to daily replace makeup. You may still need to use a pencil or powder to create your own unique, desired look. The ultimate goal is to have NATURAL looking, balanced brows.
Are Semi-Permanent Eyebrows deemed permanent?
Technically, semi-permanent micropigmentation is considered permanent because the colour is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, so it naturally fades over time.
Does the application hurt?
We take every precaution necessary to ensure that LuvBrows Microblading treatment is as painless as possible. A strong topical numb cream may be used during the treatment to keep you as comfortable as possible. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable while others report no discomfort at all. Most of our clients tell us that tweezing hurts more and LuvBrows Microblading feels like a 'cat scratch'.
How long is the recovery or healing time?
Immediately after your LuvBrows Microblading treatment and in the first 7 days, your brows will appear significantly darker and defined than perhaps your desired look. It may continue to get darker over the next few days as scabs begin to form, however this is not an accurate indication of the finished and healed result. 40% of your brow color will fade as the scabs fall off within 7-10 days. In some cases, the scabs may take longer to heal and fall off. DO NOT PICK YOUR SCABS. The pigment is within the scab and you do not want to pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely. We all heal differently and what works on one client may not be effective on another so please do not compare your results.
The complete healing process takes approximately 4 weeks.
How do you choose a color?
We choose a color by applying a small amount of pigment to the skin near to your brows and selecting the best match for your skin tone and natural brow hair color. As a rule of thumb, we closely match the color of your brow hair rather than your current hair color for the most natural results.
We only work with the best pigment brand in the Market: PHIBROWS pigments .

Does your consultation appointment cost?
Yes, for a small fee of $50. We have a one-on-one consultation where the LuvBrows Microblading treatment is explained to you in details. The consultation is perfect for the individual who has a very busy schedule and doesn’t have time to sit down to read. The price of the consultation is extra and does not include the price of the procedure.
PLEASE NOTE: THE RESULTS ARE VERY NATURAL AND FULLER LOOKING BROW. INITIALLY, THE BROWS APPEAR DARKER, BUT FADE SIGNIFICANTLY OVER A TWO WEEK PERIOD. IT IS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL TO HAVE A FOLLOW-UP DONE. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PREDICT HOW WELL YOUR SKIN WILL RETAIN THE PIGMENT. DUE TO THIS AND MANY OTHER VARYING FACTORS, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR RESULTS.
